The title is named aptly for my original post on photo.net dated April 9th, 2004.

I’m proud to say after all these years it is the first search result when someone types in “Konica Impressa”
That type of thing means a lot to me. The fact that my sample pictures and insight have probably helped thousands of people all over the world in the past five years since that post was originally made.
I really hate to admit, but in the past 7 years since i first began in photography I still don’t have a concise portfolio anywhere…
I have hundreds of pictures in unique albums, hundreds of memories of friends, and pets, and sports…
And yet if someone asks me, “Can I see your portfolio?” I’m at a loss… Not because I am not capable of showing my best work to someone, more that some pictures are more than just a single image, its almost as if the pictures themselves get lonely when isolated.
Take my main page for example: http://www.vividomaha.com
Sure, its designed in the current flavor of the month. A diverse selection that might appeal to my target audience.
But to be perfectly honest those pictures mean little to me in their current presentation. Sure, a skilled photographer can see how expertly taken they were. But where are the memories? What is a kiss without a smile afterwards? What’s a smile without a friend who’s just out of frame cracking a joke? What’s a perfectly composed group picture in front of the altar without its sister image of laughing and crying family crowded behind the photographer?
A picture says a thousand words but several pictures tell of a lifetime….
